Jimmy Weinstein’s Natural Coincidence

Natural Coincidence is best way to describe the this new edition of Jimmy Weinstein’s group. It turns out to be a natural pairing of musicians who have a long-standing history of improvising together. Weinstein and Kamaguchi started playing together in 1991. Fujii and Tamura ........well, they’re married.
After an encounter in Japan in 1997 Weinstein, taken by the impactful creativity of Satoko and Natsuki, the dynamicism of their music dreamed of the chance of forming a group with them. A coincidental meeting in New York in 2004 rendered the possibility of this quartet’s inception, the 8 year long dream was realized. In April 2005 the group recorded what will be a 2006 release. After a successful tour in November the band will be back on the road in the summer and fall of 2006. And the music is made, naturally. An important element for improvisation. New compositions, by Weinstein such as East of Cadiz, and Great, As This Ocean are implemented alongside collective improvisations and other Weinstein favorites like Go-Getter and Fantasy.
